Throughout and after my mission, my faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ deepened. I was unable to complete my full two-year service, and at first, I felt like my world had crumbled—I was hopeless. But little did I know that the very message I had been teaching others was the message I needed most.
Through the love and support of my mission leaders, my family, and—most importantly—Jesus Christ, the gospel healed my heart and lifted my spirit. The Savior’s Atonement helped me realize that I was never alone and that I was deeply loved. He is always there. Every day is a new opportunity to serve and draw closer to Him.

Being a returned missionary is both a blessing and a challenge. Many say, “This is where reality hits!” But I have learned that the same principles that strengthened me during my mission continue to sustain me after it. I strive to overcome challenges by practicing holy habits, participating in church activities, sincerely praying, reading and pondering the scriptures, attending church regularly, remaining temple-worthy, and setting and achieving righteous goals.
Challenges will come, but I know that the same gospel truths that lifted me on my mission will continue to guide me through every stage of my life.

To those considering full-time missionary service, I testify that it is a sacred and life-changing calling. As you build your desire to serve the Lord in His vineyard, prepare yourself to be worthy and stand firm in your covenants. You will become an instrument in His hands, bringing light and truth to those who are waiting for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Serve with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. If you face challenges that seem to stand in the way of serving, I promise that if you keep that desire burning in your heart, Heavenly Father will make a way for you to be part of this great work. He is there. He will help you. Trust in Him, and you will see miracles.
