For many, becoming a licensed professional teacher is the beginning of a long-awaited career. But for me, it was a stepping stone to something greater—serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As I reflected on my journey, I realized that despite my achievements, I still felt an emptiness. I had been so focused on my education and personal goals that I had unknowingly drifted from the Spirit. In a moment of sincere prayer, I asked Heavenly Father what He wanted me to do. Almost instantly, I was reminded of my patriarchal blessing, which spoke of an opportunity to serve a mission.
Reading those words again rekindled a long-lost desire. I made a commitment to the Lord: I would take my licensure exam, and if I passed, I would serve. Deep in my heart, I knew that even if I didn’t pass, I would still go on a mission.
When I took the board exam with an overwhelming sense of peace. While waiting for the results, I met with my stake president for guidance. That conversation lifted the burdens I had carried for years. It was a moment of clarity—this was my path.

In May 2024, I passed the licensure exam. I was overjoyed and grateful, knowing Heavenly Father had answered my prayers. Soon after, He provided another blessing: a job that would help me prepare financially for my mission. Unexpectedly, the very missionary who baptized me as a child also offered support for my medical expenses.
As my family celebrated the New Year, I received my mission call. Only a few knew I had submitted my papers, so it was a moment of pure joy and surprise for my loved ones. The timing was perfect—it was a new year and a new beginning.

Looking back, I see how Heavenly Father orchestrated everything. His plan was far greater than my own. Now, as I prepare to serve, I am reminded that missionary work is not just a duty but a sacred privilege. I know the Lord’s Church is true, and I am eager to share His gospel with all my heart.
