A Heart Ready to Serve: My Path to Becoming a Missionary

I remember a time when I was in primary school, and our bishop visited our class. He shared his personal experiences with missionary work and taught us about its importance, along with the significance of reading the scriptures. That moment left a lasting impression on me, and I remember being more attentive than ever before. His words sparked a desire in me to read the Book of Mormon for myself. From that point on, I developed a deep love for the scriptures and the stories that filled their pages.

I attended seminary daily, and my personal copy of the scriptures became filled with highlighted verses and sticky notes, reflecting the joy I found in learning about the gospel. My parents also taught me the importance of attending church activities and learning programs. I followed their counsel, knowing that God wanted me to grow in His truth. I have been blessed with many opportunities in the church, and I have enjoyed growing up alongside wonderful friends and family who share the same faith

I’ve been inspired by many church leaders and speakers, and their words have strengthened my desire to serve as a missionary. I know that, as a missionary, I will have the chance to bless many lives by sharing the gospel and inspiring others to come unto Christ. I also know that this work will bless my family, and I am excited to serve in England. Although I don’t fully understand the reasons why I was called to serve there, I trust in God’s plan for me and His children. I know that He knows what is best for each of us, and, as it says in 1 Nephi 3:7, “I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded.”

Being a missionary is truly a blessing. With all the talents and skills God has given me, I am ready and willing to serve Him and share His love with those I meet. I testify that this work is divinely inspired, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
