One of my most memorable experiences as a service missionary was not a large event or big moment. It was discovering how simple words and a sincere testimony can touch hearts. I saw how quiet acts of kindness and honest expressions of faith helped others feel the Savior’s love and inspired them to serve Him in their own simple ways. Those moments brought real joy to others and to me, reminding me that Jesus Christ often works through small, consistent acts of love.
Throughout my mission, my testimony of Jesus Christ has deepened. I have learned to see people as He sees them—with compassion, patience, and understanding. I have learned to care more intentionally for those who need support and encouragement. I have witnessed the hand of the Savior in my life, and I have felt His power as I tried to follow His example in lifting and strengthening God’s children.
One scripture that continually guided me is found in the Book of Mormon:
“Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good.” (Alma 37:37)
This verse became a source of daily motivation. Jesus Christ truly became my best friend—always near, always strengthening me. I offered Him my time, my efforts, and my sacrifices, trusting that as I aligned my will with His, His purposes could become my own.
From the beginning, I was called to serve as a service missionary. My leaders reminded me that I am part of the pioneers of service missions, and I have carried that reminder with gratitude and humility. It has motivated me to be an example, to show through my attitude and actions how much I love serving and how deeply I love God’s children.
To those who are preparing to serve, remember your “why.” Strive to become a consecrated missionary. A mission is not always easy, but every experience is designed to help shape you into who the Lord knows you can become. As you trust Him and walk forward in faith, you will discover that even small acts, done with love, can have an eternal impact.
