From the time I began serving as a full-time missionary, I have come to more deeply feel the love of God for all His children. As we teach families and listen to their stories, I have learned that Heavenly Father is aware of each of our needs. I have felt that His hand is always extended, ready to help and strengthen those who seek Him.
I am also grateful for the missionaries who sacrifice 18 to 24 months of their lives to find the Lord’s “lost sheep” and testify that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has been brought back to the earth.
My own desire to serve began because of missionaries I met when I was young. Like many children, I would sometimes avoid them or find reasons not to be taught. One day, even though it was raining heavily and the streets were flooded, the elders still came to our home. I asked them why they continued to visit despite the weather and despite being turned away at times. They simply said that no matter the circumstances, they would do everything they could to help others come to know God.
I did not fully understand it then, but that experience stayed in my heart. From that time on, I began to desire to serve a mission. Whenever I was asked in Primary or in Church who wanted to serve a mission, I would always raise my hand. That desire never left me as I grew older.
I am also grateful for my parents, who supported and reminded me of that desire to serve. Their encouragement helped me hold on to the goal I had set since I was young.
One of the most joyful parts of missionary service is meeting people the Lord has prepared. It is a miracle to see individuals and families welcome us into their homes—even when they are still learning about the Church. Their kindness and openness have helped me recognize that God is preparing hearts to receive His gospel. Even when there is opposition or rejection, I have never felt alone. I know the Lord goes before us and prepares the way for His work.
Through these experiences, my testimony has grown that God is mindful of His children. He prepares people to hear the gospel, and He guides His servants to those who are ready to receive it.

To those who have a desire to serve a mission, I encourage you to hold on to that desire. Do not be afraid to share your experiences and your testimony of how God has helped you in your life. There are many who are searching for hope, direction, and peace.
Help others understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ—why He suffered and gave His life for us, even though He had no sin. Let them know that He did this so that all people can find peace, healing, and joy. Teach them that they are children of God, deeply loved by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and that He desires for all to return to live with Him again.
I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that His gospel brings peace and hope to all who accept it. As we share His message, we help others come unto Him and feel the love of God in their lives.
